>Suddenly, Haruka faced Makoto. The evening sun shone from the depths of his eyes, and it was as if Haruka’s heart could clearly be seen.
>”Are you afraid of water?”
>His heart jumped. His palms grew damp with sweat. His throat was dry, and his chest hurt. It felt as if there’s not enough air around him. He couldn’t control his erratic breathing even if he tried to look calm.
>He met Haruka’s gaze. He realized that the one whose heart could be seen through was him. It has always been like that, ever since they were little. Haruka never said anything about himself, and yet he knew everything about Makoto. Haruka understood, and he pretended not to. Makoto opened up his heart. There simply was no meaning in keeping it shut anymore.
>Haruka wasn’t judging or questioning him. He was asking quietly, in his usual tone.
